چکیده

Quantifying the response of vegetation cover change (VCC) to climatic variables is a gap that mandatory for conservation and rehabilitation natural landscapes ensure sustainability. Based on temperature rainfall data, Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) dataset, district statistical we investigated spatiotemporal variations temperature, rainfall, urban land, VCC in all suburban areas Bangladesh during 1990–2018. To quantify impact urbanization VCC, two regression models were built between growing-season NDVI (GNDVI) proportion land (PUL). Linear regression, Pearson's correlation, Spearman correlation analysis carried out identify temporal among variables. Results show GNDVI, PUL varied greatly districts. The inter-annual GNDVI was found be closely related diverse variables, while moderately sensitive changes. A significant trend GP, negative GT, change. strong sensitivity GP calculated precipitation range 2200–3000 mm GT 300–31 °C. Besides, expansion mostly responsible study area. Unplanned developments would persist accelerate environmental changes unsustainability. findings warn us about need sustainable landscape management ecological preservation.

Land use and land cover spatiotemporal dynamic pattern and predicting changes using integrated CA-Markov model

Analyzing the process of land use and cover changes during long periods of time and predicting the future changes is highly important and useful for the land use managers. In this study, the land use maps in the Ardabil plain in north-west part of Iran for four periods (1989, 1998, 2009 and 2013) are extracted and analyzed through remote sensing technique, using the land-sat satellite images. T...

Simulating Land Cover Changes and Their Impacts on Land Surface Temperature in Dhaka, Bangladesh

Despite research that has been conducted elsewhere, little is known, to-date, about land cover dynamics and their impacts on land surface temperature (LST) in fast growing mega cities of developing countries. Landsat satellite images of 1989, 1999, and 2009 of Dhaka Metropolitan (DMP) area were used for analysis. This study first identified patterns of land cover changes between the periods and...

Global Climate Responses to Land Use and Land Cover Changes Over the Past Two Millennia

A reconstructed land use/land cover change (LUCC) dataset was used with the Community Earth System Model (CESM) to conduct a climate sensitivity analysis over the past two millennia. Compared to a controlled experiment conducted with the CESM, the LUCC showed significant biogeophysical effects on global climate on multi-decadal to centennial time scales. The global annual mean temperature and p...

Effects of Land Cover and Regional Climate Variations on Long-Term Spatiotemporal Changes in Sagebrush Ecosystems

This research investigated the effects of climate and land cover change on variation in sagebrush ecosystems. We combined information of multi-year sagebrush distribution derived from multitemporal remote sensing imagery and climate data to study the variation patterns of sagebrush ecosystems under different potential disturbances. We found that less than 40% of sagebrush ecosystem changes invo...
